Is a national self exclusion database in the works? It would be the best way to help people control their gambling online.

I love to gamble it gives me a thrill until I lose money and then start chasing it. I used to think it wasn’t a problem but now I realise it is because I’m in debt and the only way I think of getting out of debt is by gambling

When are the gambling industry going to create a way to be universally excluded from online gambling websites? The removal system is totally pointless when you have hundreds of websites constantly ad editing to people. I think it's really irresponsible of the industry to not enforce this. Physical casinos can exclude from one and it works in all. The gambling commission needs to wake up and address this serious hole in the bucket!!

Considering there is 100's if not more gambling websites online can I ask why it is there bot a mechanism were if someone wants to exclude themselves from all gambling websites and not just the current one in use. The gambling commission must understand this cycle. It's great to exclude from one website but within 5 mins of doing that the addiction may cause someone to open another then do the same 7 days a week 365 days a year...therefore the problem is truly not resolved by just self-excluding from one particular site. I believe this would have a greater impact to one's addiction by excluding through a mechanism to stop all sorts than just the one that is being used at that particular time. We have to be real here

I've lost friends, family, my home and myjob . But I still gamble. I feel at ease when I have no money whatsoever, so I can't gamble. Suicide is always an option.

Also, why is it that gambling companies are allowed to advertise basically everywhere and all the time? Is there no regulation? It's hard to avoid developing an addiction, or increased activity and thoughts about gambling particularly on sports betting when whenever you watch a football match even on BT Sport which you have to pay for, in the half time breaks you see an advert straight away for say bet365 to bet on the next goalscorer or something! It's everywhere and it's not like you can turn it off...

Why is it that gambling companies are allowed to have such high wagering requirements on bonuses? I mean on casino companies if I get a £5 bonus even for free it's not really for free as it has to be wagered 40 times over before anything becomes my winnings

some sites require you to deposit to claim their bonuses - i think this is irresponsible and should be stopped. if i have to deposit i will but i don't want to be mandated to do so !

There are a very wide range of bonuses and incentives across the industry. Some of them do require a deposit before a bonus is awarded. However, such offers do not have to be accepted by the customer and they are routinely declined because they are not attractive to all customers. Clearly no offers should be irresponsible and the industry is working with various regulators to ensure that is not the case.
