Marketing Notice

We have answered some FAQs about our marketing policy

Why am I receiving this?

You may have received an email from GambleAware which contains ‘marketing’ – such as an invitation to an event, or a copy of our newsletter.

To your personal email: If you have received this to your personal email address (such as @gmail.com or @hotmail.com), this is because you have previously provided us with your consent to receive these updates. If you do not believe you gave consent, or you have since changed your mind, you can unsubscribe from these emails by contacting us here or by clicking the unsubscribe link in the mail.

To your professional or business email: The law does not require us to have consent to send marketing communications to professional email addresses. However, we only send you information we believe will be of interest to you (perhaps because of your role).

Where did you get my email address?

We either obtained your email address:

  • Directly from you, such as when you signed up to attend an event.
  • From a third party such as the host of an event we contributed to, or sponsored, or another partner.
  • From public online sources, such as your organisation’s public website (e.g. if you are a researcher, your university).

If we did not obtain your email address directly, it is our aim to contact you within one month so that you know we have your personal information.

I would like to stop receiving emails from GambleAware

If you do not want to hear from us, you can unsubscribe from these emails at any time by contacting us here or by clicking the unsubscribe link in the mail.

Please note we may keep a limited amount of your personal information to ensure we do not contact you again in the future.

And note that we may contact you about non-marketing, such as administrative communications regarding donations.

For more information about how we use your personal information, you can see our privacy policy here.
